Dr. Brian Jones, FMU Assistant Professor of Music Industry and jazz drummer, will perform a faculty recital on September 26, 2023 at 7:30pm in the PAC Black Box Theater. The Brian Jones Quartet will perform jazz standards and original compositions. Outside of the classroom, Dr. Brian Jones has worked as a freelance drummer with a wide variety of musicians ranging from John Abercrombie to Houston Person. He has toured professionally, writing music and performing jazz and avant-garde pieces, as well as producing over twenty-five records for his own Slang Sanctuary label. Brian Jones joined the faculty of Francis Marion University in 2022 to take part in the developing Music Industry program. Tickets are available to FMU students, faculty, and staff at no charge upon showing an FMU ID. Tickets to the general public are $10, as space allows.
