The FMU Chamber Jazz Ensemble allows students in a small group setting to learn and hone improvisational skills within the the jazz idiom. Recently, works have been selected from music by Metheny, Corea, Ritenour, Jobim and others.

The Music Industry Ensemble is a chamber ensemble devoted to the development of individual performance and improvisation skills through the staging of music for small groups representing a variety of classic and modern jazz, pop, rock and soul styles.
Terry Roberts, director
Combining a daunting array of musical styles and influences to produce a signature sound that is not quite maestro, not quite emcee, this group of two classically trained violinists and their DJ is redefining the music world-one string at a time. The Marshall Tucker Band blended rock, blues, country and jazz into an eclectic sound that helped them establish the genre of Southern Rock in the 1970's. The Phoenix Phame show choir of Mayo High School for MST is in its seventh year of existence and has performed at several community events, as well as at theme parks such as Disney World, Carowinds and the SC School Board’s annual conference. Performing live with Phoenix Phame is The 405 Instrumental Ensemble group, which has been in existence for four years. The Jazz Ambassadors is the United States Army's premier big band. This 19-member ensemble, formed in 1969, has received great acclaim both at home and abroad performing America's original art form, Jazz. The PAC concert will include 75 minutes of FREE, live entertainment on the stage of the BB&T amphitheater, located just outside of the main PAC facility.
